How to Adopt:
- Explore Available Dogs: dogs currently awaiting adoption.
- Submit an Application: Ready to take the next step? Fill out our Dog Adoption Application to start the adoption process.
Adoption Fees:
- Adoption fees vary
- heartworm preventative (while in the shelter)
What’s Included in the Adoption Fee:
- Spay or Neuter surgery
- Microchip with Lifetime Membership
- Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DAPP/Bordetella)
- Flea & Tick Preventative
- Dewormer
- Lyme & Heartworm Testing (where applicable)

Thank you for considering the addition of a dog or puppy from The Highland Humane Society to your family. Our dogs are eagerly waiting to embark on a new journey with loving owners.
FOSTER TO ADOPT PROGRAM
Take advantage of our foster-to-adopt program, where you can take any dog 4 months and older home for a week to make sure it is a good fit before committing to adoption. If interested please submit a Foster Application and once approved we can set them up for the foster to adopt program. We do require a $100 deposit to take a dog out on foster to adopt. If you decide to adopt the deposit is put towards the adoption fee. If you decide it isn't a good fit we will refund the money to you.
